I was using other brand almond milks for years until I started paying attention to all the ingredients. One of the brands I researched was Califia Farms. They offer both regular and organic unsweetened almond milk. The key difference between the two is the certification and sourcing of the ingredients. The organic version is USDA certified organic, containing only three simple ingredients: purified water, organic almonds, and sea salt. It’s clean, straightforward, and exactly what I want in a plant-based milk. On the other hand, the regular version is not certified organic and may contain additional ingredients, though it’s still a great option for those who don’t mind a few extra additives.One thing I really appreciate is that Califia Farms almond milk is carrageenan-free. Carrageenan is an ingredient some people are concerned about due to potential digestive issues, and I’ve been careful to avoid it in my plant-based milks. Califia Farms makes it easy by leaving it out of their products, which gives me peace of mind.Another thing to keep in mind is that almond milk generally has lower protein content compared to cow’s milk or soy milk, so it’s not a perfect substitute for those looking for a higher-protein option. However, for what it is, I find Califia Farms almond milk to be delicious, creamy, and a great addition to my morning coffee, smoothies, or cereal.
