I don't know about you, but I like my water cool, clear, and absent of an offensive aftertaste reminiscent of dust or powder having been mixed in. Let me preface by disclosing that we live on a rural country homesite with a 430 ft deep well. Yes, the ground water that "arrives" to our home IS refreshingly clear and COLD, however it is also mineral laden, especially rich in iron with an annoyingly obvious aroma -- SULFUR (most notable after rainfalls). YUCK! In recent years, the addition of a refrigerator with built in water filter has helped immensely to alleviate complaint from family and houseguests regarding our "stinky water", however it's filtering output rate was kind of SLOW, thus we decided to invest our hard-earned cash into purchase of a case or two bottled water every few months just to have on hand. We found that the availability and convenience of water in disposable/recyclable containers worked great for toting to work, general "outings", and the occasional instance of power outage (no power = no well pump = no water). Oh, and of course, we find them very handy in the rare instance of staunch visitors to our home who stand their ground and simply refuse to drink well water, filtered or otherwise.Of course, we've tried LOTS of brands of bottled water (except the REALLY boujee ones). Frankly, as soon as we thought we had found a brand that we liked, we would suddenly discover that IT, too had developed that all too familiar mysterious and offensive "powdered" aftertaste. Strangely, all of the waters were within the "best by dates" and similarly stored on a shelf in our garage (warm in summer; cold in winter), therefore we remain perplexed by the origin of the "powder taste" (and kind of concerned with regard to bottle content and/or prep during manufacturing). OMG, WHAT exactly are we putting into our bodies?BOTTOM LINE: After years of trial and error with various bottled waters, it seems we have finally settled on the AQUAFINA brand water; 16.9 oz bottles offered in 24-30ct packs. We like the relative sturdiness of the bottles AND the sturdy full size cap (many brands offer thin, easily collapsible bottles that are oddly difficult for some people to hold on to -and- some brands now feature a smaller half size cap that seem difficult to handle/secure without dropping them, especially for older folk). We've been purchasing the AQUAFINA brand steadily for about one year now and are quite pleased with the overall product. In our family, I am the real "stickler" for taste and quality, and thus far, I have not encountered any AQUAFINA water product with that disconcerting telltale "powder residue" resonating in the water. This brand is thus far cool, clear, and without question, meets all needs and expectations of our family. (Gee, if only our deep rural well could produce such wonderful potable water -FOR FREE- us rural country folk would truly be blessed!)JANUARY 2025 UPDATE: The AQUAFINA brand has apparently succumbed to cost saving measures. The easy-to-handle WHITE FULL SIZE lids that I referenced above have now been replaced with a "half-size" thin blue lid. Not only is it more difficult to unseal and remove from a full new bottle without the bottle collapsing on itself and spilling the contents, but it is also increasingly cumbersome to adeptly remove and replace as you hydrate multiple times throughout the day. Keep in mind your consumers needs. The fingers of us older folk are simply not as nimble as they once were, thus are prone to fumbling/dropping/losing those tiny half size caps. (Likely applies to young kids with small hands/fingers as well.) I'd hate to change brands based on something as simple as the SHAPE of a bottle or SIZE of a BOTTLE CAP!
