The team of Lords of the Drinks is very close to adding one more prestigious distinction to its collection. As you may remember, both founders of the blog Micky and Nikolay are winners in the Alcohol Friendly category of the American University in Bulgaria, respectively for 2012 and 2013. LOTD has also a Versatile Blogger Award and Liebster award. Now one of our guest writers, Vojda Lurchy, is also running for Alcohol Friendly.

The Chieftain (the English word for Vojda) is a man who has proven not only his appetite for drinks but also his outstanding intellect for solving mathematical problems. When he came to the university, he had no idea about the transformation he was about to experience. Not that Mr. Lurchy was teetotaler, but he definitely developed true sense of a student life over the last three years.

This man deserves the award, because he is clearly demonstrating that a good student need not bury his nose in the textbooks all night long while drinking nothing stronger than cocoa. Well, it would be wrong to say that his alcohol bacchanalia goes smooth every time. The poor LOTD contributor dislocated his kneecap last semester in a disco, because…um…drinking without any consequences is too mainstream.

But as a real man should do, Vojda did not let such a minor detail prevent him from drinking. And now students nominated him together with four other people, whom we barely perceive as real competition (some of them do not drink at all and their nominations are the result of a friends’ joke). So it is quite natural that our guest-writer should continue the LOTD domination in the Alcohol Friendly awards started in 2012 by Micky and continued in 2013 with Nikolay. By the way, this is post number 400 in Lords of the Drinks. Cheers!
